The Assault finish their season with a 26-8 win of the Nightmare!
Fourteen weeks ago, the women of the Keystone Assault were psyched, ready to start their 2011 season. Full of excitement, they vowed to walk onto that field every week and fight, side by side with the women they have come to know as friends, family and teammates. The Assault hope to tackle their first win, after starting the season 0-3.

Keystone Assault team up with the Harrisburg Stampede!
Although many fans of the Assault look at the season and think ‘They are 0-2, that’s not a good start’, they are right. The women of the Assault like to look at their cup as if it’s half full, instead of half empty.

“People call this a contact sport, but it‘s not. It’s a collision sport.“ A.J. McKay, Keystone Assault head coach
By Laura Spurgeon
The women -- mothers, students, businesswomen, athletes -- have learned to answer the questions patiently, and with a smile. “Yes, full pads and helmets. Not flags.” “It’s 11-on-11, just like the men.” “No, we don’t wear lingerie and heels.” “Seriously, we hit pretty hard.” By now, the veteran players on the Keystone Assault, Harrisburg’s only women’s full-contact football team, are used to explaining themselves and their game.
